Review: ESR Rebound magnetic case 360 for iPad Pro

Review unit provided by ESR Tech

The ESR Rebound magnetic case 360 is a well made alternative to the Apple Magic Keyboard that's more functional and cost less than half the price at just USD 129. It's even cheaper on Amazon.

The keyboard case is available for sale with many bundles so be careful what you add to the cart if you do not want other accessories.

This case is compatible with the following iPad models:

  • iPad 10 (2022)
  • iPad Air 11 (2024)
  • iPad Air 13 (2024)
  • iPad Air 4/5 and iPad Pro 11 (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022)
  • M2 iPad Pro 12.9 (2022)

US layout keyboard case is available in four colours, namely black, white and purple. UK layout is only available in black.

The keyboard case is quite well made. Exterior is made with PU leather material that's quite similar to what's used to make most flip cases.

The case is going to make the tablet much thicker and heavier, which is not surprising.

The magnetic flap for protecting the Apple Pencil can be attached to the back of the keyboard as well.

The keyboard case comes in two parts. One is the keyboard flip case, and the other is the silicone full-protection case.

My review sample is the 11-inch model and the keyboard size is comfortable to work with.

Typing experience is good. There's good travel and feedback. There's backlight. Keyboard is bluetooth and requires charging. The 600 mAh battery life seems low but battery life can actually last many days. I can't test the battery life conclusively because I don't work long enough on the keyboard to drain out the battery. Only downside regarding battery life is there's no way to know how much battery life is remaining.

Other downside is the keys feel slightly plasticky but it's not a big issue.

The tablet (with silicone case) can attach to the keyboard case magnetically, and can be detached easily if you want to use the tablet alone. The design of the case is laptop-like so you can open it up with the tablet floating. This design is similar to the Apple Magic Keyboard.

One huge selling point is the company has added additional magnets so that you can elevate the tablet even higher. This higher height makes it more ergonomic to look at the tablet.

The other selling point if the tablet can be deployed in vertical orientation.

And you can elevate the vertical tablet higher too.

The base is heavy enough to make everything stable, as long as you don't elevate the tablet too high in which case the tablet will just topple backwards.

That's the lowest angle the back can fold.

Conclusion

The design of this keyboard case is smart and functional. It provides good protection and utility. Pricing seems quite reasonable as the keyboard case works as advertised and is well made. It's certainly more worth the money compared to the overpriced Apple Magic Keyboard.
