This is actually an art book for two games, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (極限脱出 9時間9人9の扉) and Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (極限脱出ADV 善人シボウデス). They are are for Nintendo DS and 3DS respectively. They are adventure puzzle solving games about 9 persons trapped at a location, trying to find their way out.

The book's a 128 page paperback.

As the game is character and story driven, the art featured are mainly character art. The character art are nice but you only get 18 characters so that's not too much. Character designer is Kinu Nishimura (西村キヌ). Her style still reminds me of the illustrations she did for Street Fighter.

The environment art are 3D models of the rooms and schematic drawings. There are also some screenshots and storyboards. All these come with commentary, and the character commentary are from Kinu Nishimura.

This book's a nice game companion but should appeal more to those who have played the game.
