Book Review: 20 Ways to Draw a Mustache and 44 Other Funny Faces and Features
I've several other books from the 20 Ways to Draw series and they are all pretty amusing. The author is Cara Bean and she's a cartoonist and art teacher from Concord, Massachusetts.
This is a drawing book targeted for kids. The style is more of simple caricature and cartoons. Other than mustaches, all the other subjects are related to facial features, such as eyes, mouth, expressions and the last few exercises you get to draw animal faces.
Other than the introduction, there are no other instructions. You just look at the 20 drawn examples on the left page, and create your own on the blank right page. The exercises are straightforward, sometimes amusing, and definitely easy to grasp and follow along. For example, there's one exercise on drawing heads in square shapes so you just have to drawn your own heads into square or rectangular blocks.
Fun book for kids and doodling fans.
