Book Review: Aliens Artbook: A 35th Anniversary Visual Collection of the Sci-Fi Classic
The Aliens Artbook is a collaborative artbook with Aliens-inspired artworks contributed by nearly 200 artists. This is a 35th anniversary art collection made possible by Printed in Blood, a company that prints artbooks and movie posters with original art inspired by pop culture. This is a large format 224-page hardcover book published by Titan Books.
It's really cool to see all the different artists' interpretation and take on Aliens, the second film in the Alien franchise.
The artworks look amazing and there's a huge variety of style featured. Some of the more unusual concepts, for me, involve the juxtaposition of horror with a style that's at the opposite end, e.g. kawaii manga or cutesy style. This artbook actually reminds me of Mondo which is another company that sells original art and merchandised inspired by pop culture - see The Art of Mondo.
This is a terrific artbook for fans of the Alien franchise.
