Book Review: The Art of VIVO
Vivo is a 3D animated movie produced by Sony Animation Studios. The movie was released in selected theatres and distributed on Netflix. It only made USD 1.5 million in the box office but got 5.7 million viewings on Netflix. The artbook's not doing that well too with only 5 reviews on Amazon since it was released three months ago.
You will not want to miss out on this artbook because it's an incredible artbook.
The concept art in this 224-page hardcover companion artbook is breathtaking. The book is packed with character designs, and even more environment and set designs. The location designs for Cuba and Miami just captures the mood, atmosphere and the vibe so well. The characters and the places look so vibrant and feel so lively. The stylised designs are so detailed and the shape designs are so fun.
You know the art is good when you can look at the art and the story just appears in your mind, and I've not even watched the film.
There isn't much text so just enjoy the art.
This is one of my favourite artbooks from 2021 and I highly recommend it.
