Book Review: Assassin's Creed: Into the Animus
This movie companion covers the production process of the film. It features lots of behind the scenes photography, interviews with the crew and cast, and has lots of info on the film production.
This book is unlike the Assassin's Creed artbooks. There are some artworks but the majority of visuals are photos, e.g. set photography where you see actors on wires, in front of green screen and on location. There are some concept art of scenes but I wish there were even more designs for the weapons and locations. You get to see the costumes from the photos. It's a making-of book rather than an artbook, so having more art would be nice but not having that isn't a deal breaker too.
This book would make more sense to fans of Assassin's Creed because it refers to the game quite often. As a fan, you should be able to spot the difference between the movies and the games, and read about why they made those changes.
Overall, it's a fine companion to the film. The current price on Amazon is USD $45 and that is quite expensive in my opinion. You might want to wait for the price to drop, or check out other places to buy it from.
