Book Review: Bahamas Sketchbook by Graham Byfield
Graham Byfield continues sketching. His sketchbook from 2013 is drawn in The Bahamas.
It's similar in presentation style to his other sketchbooks. There are the beautiful watercolour paintings from him, and the text is written by Larry Smith who is a Bahamian journalist and columnist.
The book covers the history of the place and makes for a wonderful read. Many of the buildings featured in the sketches were built in the 18th and 19th centuries, and their architecture are still delightful to look at today.
Speaking of architecture, this book is primarily focused on that. While there's mention of the famous Queen's Staircase in Nassau, there's no painting of that.
Looking at the sketches makes me wish that I could visit the place one day.
Beautiful sketchbook. Recommended to those who like sketchbooks and travelogues
