Book Review: Elsewhere: The Fantasy Art of Jesper Ejsing
Jesper Ejsing (Instagram | website) is a Danish artist who started creating fantasy art in 1986. He has worked his way to become one of the best fantasy artists in the industry with work commissioned by Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons and more.
This large format 408-page hardcover artbook features almost 400 pieces of gorgeous artworks from Jesper Ejging.
Publisher Editions Caurette has done an excellent job with this book. They have used low gloss high quality 150 GSM paper for the book. The layout is wonderful and many paintings are printed right to the edge. It is tremendously satisfying to see beautiful artworks reproduced so huge. The binding seems durable for a book this thick.
Jesper Ejsing works with digital and acrylic, and there's no visible difference in quality between the two. There isn't much text except for the occasional commentary for selected pieces.
Official retail price is €70. This book may be expensive but it's worth the money. This is an excellent artbook for fans of Jesper Ejsing and fantasy art.
There's a blank cover edition with extra prints for €300.
