Book Review: Fast and Fun Watercolor: Painting Techniques, No Drawing Required!
This book is quite similar Paint, Play, Explore that I reviewed recently. Both books are on mixed media art, but with this book, it uses more watercolour.
Fast & Fun Watercolor by Gina Lee Kim very hands-on book on making art with watercolour. This is not like those structured watercolour instructional books that goes through the art fundamentals and watercolour painting techniques. There's only a small section on colour theory. This book jumps straight into the hands-on projects.
The projects are mixed media based so they use additional materials other than watercolour. There are projects that make use of paper cut outs, sometimes you need to apply paste to create textures, or make your own stencils to create repeating patterns.
The art projects are simple so anyone from any skill levels can follow along easily. There's no need to compare your work against the examples so there's no stress. There's no good or bad art. This book is about having fun, enjoying the art creation process, and making something for yourself.
