Book Review: Marvel Secret Work Dell'Otto 1998-2016
This book was originally published in 2016 and I didn't know it existed until I saw it on the shelf at Basheer Graphic Books.
This is one of the best artist-centric artbooks published by Marvel. Gabriele Dell'Otto is an amazing illustrator and his artworks are gorgeous. This 324-page hardcover features lots of sketches, layouts and full coloured illustrations. This book is huge at 30 x 30cm (12 x 12 inches) and all the artworks are reproduced quite large and a joy to look at. This is the definitive book with Dell'Otto's art from 1998 to 2016.
There's also plenty of commentary, in English, French and Italian.
This is an expensive book. The current price, at time of this review, on Amazon is US $125. But even at that price, it's still quite worth the money especially if you're a Dell'Otto fan. There are only 2,000 copies published so once the stocks are gone, you can expect this book to be even more expensive.
Highly recommended.
