Book Review: Shiok, Sia! Sketching Singapore's Favourite Desserts
Shiok, Sia! Sketching Singapore's Favourite Desserts is one of two books by Anita Ryanto on Singapore food. The other book is on street food.
This book is a small squarish paperback with 96 pages.
The book introduces the popular desserts in Singapore. The desserts are grouped into kueh (cakes and pastry), sweets, savouries, drinks, iced desserts, and there are also recipes included for you to make your own desserts. The accompanying artworks are wonderful and all drawn by Anita Ryanto. If you happen to be a tourist, you can actually use this book as a checklist to go discover and eat all the featured food.
This book is published by Kucinta Books, cost S$20 and is available from BooksActually, which is where I bought my copy.
