Book Review: The Dunwich Horror by H P Lovecraft and Francois Baranger
This is the 4th illustrated book adapted from the H P Lovecraft's stories by François Baranger.
The earlier books are The Call of Cthulhu, At the Mountains of Madness Vol 1 (2020) and At the Mountains of Madness Vol 2 (2021). I'm not familiar with Lovecraft's stories but from what I've read, these books seem to be from the Cthulhu Mythos series.
Francois Baranger is a freelance illustrator, writer and concept artist who has illustrated several books.
This book is a large format 64-page hardcover. All the artworks in this book look stunning and you can admire them at huge sizes.
The amount of research done is amazing and you can see that through the amazing details drawn for the buildings, architecture and settings. The mood and atmosphere are captured really well. It is quite an experience to read about the mystery of Dunwich while being treated with beautiful visuals.
This is a wonderful book. And if you like this book, do check out the earlier books and I hope they are still available.
