Comparison of Huion stands for tablets and pen displays

Review samples provided by Huion

In this article, we'll compare four pen display or tablet stands that are sold by Huion, namely:

Prices listed are for standalone purchases. Prices are lower when purchased as a bundle with selected Huion pen displays.

Huion also sells the single monitor arm ST410 (USD 119) and dual monitor arm ST420 (199) but those will not be covered in this review. If you want more table space, you should go with these floating desktop arms.

Huion Foldable stand ST100 (USD 49)

The Huion ST100 is designed for large pen displays that support VESA mounting (75 x 75mm, 100 x 100mm).

+ Angle is easy to adjust with the latch
+ Stable
+ Many angles of deployment
+ Solid build quality
+ Supports 75 x 75mm and 100 x 100mm VESA mount
- Bottom edge of pen display will suffer wear and tear
- There's adjustment for angle but not height

Huion Foldable stand ST200 (USD 49)

The Huion ST200 folding stand is made with a combination of aluminium alloy and plastic, and comes with silicone padding.

This is meant for pen display sizes from 10 to 16-inch

+ Easy to fold, compact and portable
+ Good build quality
+ Has 6 angles of deployment
+ Stable
- Metal edges are sharp, not beveled
- There's adjustment for angle but not height

Huion Foldable stand ST300 (USD 49)

The Huion ST300 folding stand is a variation of the ST200 and is also made with a combination of aluminium alloy and plastic, and comes with silicone padding.

This is meant for pen display sizes from 10 to 16-inch

+ Easy to fold, compact and portable
+ Good build quality
+ Has 6 angles of deployment
+ Stable
- There's adjustment for angle but not height

There isn't much functional difference between ST200 and ST300 stands. Between the two, get the ST300 because the sharp metal edges are covered with plastic.

Huion double layer foldable stand (USD 59)

This Huion double layer stand is actually a variation of some laptop stands, but it's more stable. This is made with aluminium alloy and silicone padding.

+ Easy to fold, compact and portable
+ Good build quality
+ Has 9 angles of deployment
+ Angles and height can be adjusted
+ Stable
+ Can hold up to 3.6kg
+ Metal edges are beveled

The main selling point is the height can be elevated to bring the pen display closer to you, so that you can avoid hunching over while drawing. This feature is certainly worth the extra $10.

The latch is big and can be used with big laptops too.

This is meant for pen display sizes from 10 to 16-inch. But I've tested the Huion Kamvas Pro 19 (2kg) on it and it's quite stable thanks to the huge base.

Huion VESA desktop stand ST500 (USD 139)

The Huion ST500 is an adjustable desktop monitor VESA stand. It can work with monitors up to 32-inches or 10kg weight.

+ Solid build quality
+ Easily adjustable gas spring arm
+ Supports 75 x 75mm and 100 x 100mm VESA mount
+ Pen display can be held in stationary position
- Huge base takes up table space

This is designed for use with pen displays so that you can adjust display lower for drawing, and back higher for use as a normal monitor. The gas spring mechanism can hold the pen display in stationary position, and you can rest your palm(s) while drawing without the height dropping.

At the lowest height, the bottom of the pen display (Huion Kamvas Pro 19 above) can touch the table.

This is a good option for those who have tables that cannot support the monitor arm clamps, e.g. single monitor arm ST410 (USD 119) and dual monitor arm ST420 (199).

Conclusion

The folding stands are good for the smaller and portable pen displays, anything to 16-inches, or even 19-inches.

Out of the foldable stands, I highly recommend the double layer folding stand because having height adjustment means you can sit with a straighter back and that's just better for ergonomics.

If you do want to buy the low stands, I recommend the Parblo PR100 instead which is easier to adjust, but it's not as portable compared to the Huion foldable stands.

If you're using huge pen displays, anything 19-inches or larger, you can then consider the ST500 VESA stand or the monitor arms depending on whether your table can support clamps or depending on how much you want to spend.
