Things in the goodie bag from Auckland USk Symposium
Let's look at the tools and art supplies I have received from the Urban Sketchers Symposium in Auckland.
This goodie bag should the be same one the instructors received, and the items inside are slightly different from the ones that the Workshop and Sketch Pass participants get. This goodie bag has more sketchpads and sketchbooks.
The photo above does not show all the items as my wife has removed several items and I believe there's a bottle of Jacques Herbin watercolour ink that was removed by the customs for whatever reason.
So these are all the items shown in the photo above.
- 2x Clairefontaine spiral bound 90gsm sketchpad (A5)
- Clairefontaine 90gsm sketchpad (A4)
- Van Gogh 360gsm 100% cellulose black watercolour paper pad
- 2x Hahnemuhle travel booklets with 140gsm sketch paper (A6)
- Strathmore 300 gsm 100% cotton watercolour travel journal (A5)
- Winsor & Newton 160gsm marker heavyweight paper pad (A4)
- Daler Rowney 24-pan watercolour box set
- Daniel Smith 6-pan Sketcher watercolour box set
- QOR 6-pan Urban Sketch watercolour box set
- Winsor & Newton 6-piece Studio Collection sketching pencils
- Cretacolor 6-piece pencil set
- 3x Winsor & Newton Promaker
- 2x Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour marker
- 5x Winsor & Newton technical pens (0.1 to 1.0)
- 4x Faber-Castell Multimark Plus markers
- 2x Faber-Castell SpeedX 7 pens
- Faber-Castell CX Colour pen
- Sennelier pigmented ink watercolor brush
- Escoda Perla size 10 round pocket watercolour brush
- Escoda Perla size 1/4 sword pocket watercolour brush
- Princeton Neptune size 4 round pocket watercolor brush
These are the two almost A6-sized Hahnemuhle travel booklets with 140gsm sketch paper.
The Strathmore Watercolor Travel Journal is a good one with 100% cotton 300gsm watercolour paper. Only downside is it's not available with hardcover. But the paperback's benefit is it's much lighter. And I read somewhere that the Strathmore Watercolor Travel Journal has been discontinued.
These are 90gsm sketching paper from Clairefontaine.
Van Gogh 360gsm black watercolour paper from Royal Talens. This is probably good for coloured pencils and gouache.
The 160gsm heavyweight marker paper from Winsor & Newton.
A 24-pan watercolour box set from Daler Rowney.
A 6-colour Sketcher watercolour box set from Daniel Smith. I have reviewed Daniel Smith pan sets before.
Another 6-pan watercolour box set, this one from QoR.
A box set of pencils from Cretacolor with a custom box design. The pencils in this box are Aquagraph, Marino, Graphite Aquarell and Nero.
Winsor & Newton Studio Collection sketching pencils.
Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour markers with pigmented inks.
Winsor & Newton Promarker Brush.
Sennelier Ink Brush. This is new to me. There are 36 colours and the inks are pigmented.
Faber-Castell Multimark Plus markers.
Winsor & Newton felt tip technical pens.
Two Escoda Perla synthetic pocket watercolour brushes (sword and size 10 round) and the other's a Neptune Princeton (size 4).
Faber-Castell Speedx 7 and CX Colour ballpoint pens.
And lastly, a watercolour tube of Opera Pink from Sennelier.
That's a lot of products that I can review for the next few weeks and months.
