Book Review: 背景画集 草薙 2 SF編

草薙 (Kusanagi) is a Japanese artist group that creates background art for animation and computer games. This is the second portfolio art book focusing on sci-fi background art.

Included are the preliminary line art, which are then painted over to create the full colour background painting. There are cityscapes, planetary cities, interior and industrial designs. Unfortunately I've watched none of the animation listed above, so I can't confirm whether all the environment and sets are in. And at the back is a Q&A written in Japanese.

This book is recommended to background painters, and perhaps game designers.
