Sonny Liew (blog | Twitter) will be releasing his new book Malinky Robot at STGCC 2011.

Malinky Robot began as a student project for Sonny Liew. In the introduction, it says that the first Malinky Robot story "Stinky Fish Blues" was self published by photocopying and hand-stapling. What a way to start out.

Since then, Malinky Robot stories have appeared in several places such as Kazu Kibuishi's Flight anthology, Liquid City and other publications.

The short stories are now collected in this single 128-page paperback volume published by Image Comics. Besides the stories, there are also some early comics and a guest gallery section that features interpretations of Malinky Robot characters by other artists.

You can get his book and original art at STGCC at booth G44 on 20-21 Aug 2011. The book will be available shortly after that on Amazon and other book retailers.
