Do you create art?

The reason I'm asking this is because I'm toying with the idea of organizing drawing contests in the future. There will be prizes of course, prizes akin to those from the giveaways or even better.

On top of that, you'll also get your work viewed by thousands of readers and art enthusiasts. It will be great exposure and promotion.

Let me know what type of art you create via the comments section below.

And don't forget to post a link to your website/blog/online portfolio. It doesn't matter if you're a budding art student or a professional, doing art for leisure or for a living.

I am a budding art student and like to do more simple cartoon designs. And an Art contest I think would be an awesome idea.

Hi Parka.
An art contest would be great!!!!!!!!!.
I take weekly drawing classes and any art material would be put to good use!!!

Art blog contests are a little more involved, just ask the guy that runs Art Order. Pretty time-consuming! ;)

I do enjoy your blog. I never have time to keep up on all the new and varied art books that come out, let alone know what the content is. Your blog is a great resource (unless you ask my wallet, haha!).

BOY OH BOY THIS IS GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN!!!!
don't have a blog or online portfolio, but who knows, maybe now I'll try better to make one :-)
now excuse me, I'm going to clean my table from all the books (Parka's fault) and make space so I can practice my drawings..

YEAH!! Contests!!!

Most of my work is in storyboards, but I'm also make comics, count me in as interested, some of my work is online, but I haven't updated it in years. I'll hand you a link to my blog as soon as I get it up and running

Hello,

This is a great blog and resource in general. I most certainly am up for a competition. As a lecturer of computer games design, I find the reviews of subjects specific books brilliant. Please have a look at my latest animation efforts on Vimeo, and let me know what you think :)

My art degree went down the drain and is gathering dust somewhere, but I've been trying to motivate myself to draw again after such a long hiatus. I occasionally put junk on my out of date blog *points above*

Yes, I am an artist and would be interested in participating in any contests you may have.

I am a college sophomore, currently in a BFA degree for Production Animation. I like painting, especially digital painting, but I occasionally do more traditional work. The idea of contests and free promotion sounds very good.

DeviantART gallery - hodgepodge of work that more or less shows what I do

Sketch blog - dumping ground of sorts, has more WIP stuff and life drawing sketches

Ah, sweet, would love to see something like that on this blog! Could be fun ^^

Freelance Illustrator/Concept artist here, I do a lot of digital and traditional artwork. Been working on a website portfolio for myself, but don't currently have anything to show :c

i wouldn't call it art
i play with the pencil and wacom tablet, draw funny characters and animate them from time to time.
i would hardly call it art, but i wouldn't mind joining in a drawing contest

Yeah!!,
I am an artist and would be interested in participating in any contests you may have.
:D :D

Just letting people put their art on your site is a good idea (even without a contest). I dabble in all styles & mediums but focus mostly on pen & ink, graphite, or colored pencil drawings. My work is a combination of my influences which include anything Japanese/asian, videogame concept art, anime, tattoo art, fantasy, & visionary styles. Elements of my art reflect my favorite artists: Sam Weber, James Jean, Jae Lee, Guermo Del Toro, Paul Romano, Yoshitaka Amano, Naohisa Inoue, Fumito Ueda, Takehiko Inoue, & Joe Mad!. (To name a few)....

Yep, I create art! I'm a student currently trying to get into concept art or video games. Although most of the work you will see here is old, my website is https://clean3d.com

Contests sound cool - I will definitely try to participate if you go ahead with it!

I'm a starting art student myself, so at the moment I'm learning a lot of the basics and trying to do as much life drawing and master copies as time allows. When I'm not doing that, I like creating cartoon characters with the vector tools in Flash. I find the different brushes there to be great especially for someone new who has less dexterity.

I think it'd be totally awesome to have contests at this blog. I've seen complete beginners create amazing things elsewhere depending on the theme chosen, it just depends on the passion sometime; technical prowess is always impressive though.
