Book Preview: Figure Drawing: Design and Invention

Here's the new figure drawing book from Michael Hampton. I'm getting it and will be doing a more detailed review when it arrives.

You can check out the book's website at www.figuredrawing.info on what you can expect. The images below are all from the website.

Here's the product description:

Figure Drawing: Design and Invention is an instructional figure drawing book geared towards the novice and experienced artist alike. In approaching the figure, this book emphasizes a simplified understanding of surface anatomy, in order to allow for artists to understand invention and mechanics of the figure, creating a successful skill-set that can be applied in both traditional and computer-based fields. In addition, this book focuses very strongly on process. Unlike other drawing books that describe elements of the figure without a cohesive idea of how to assimilate them into an approach, this book is very heavy on practical usage. To this end, the figure is broken down into gesture, construction, anatomy, etc, all presented in the guise of understanding the human form while still favoring the artistic.

It's been 14 days since you

It's been 14 days since you ordered - did this book ever arrive? I'd be very interested in your opinion and a flip-through video. Still, it will be very hard to order this from Germany. It seems like the German amazon-catalogue doesn't even know this book.
