Book Review: Beginner’s Guide to Creating Characters in Blender
This is an rather good book for beginners to Blender that assumes no prior knowledge to 3D modeling, and covers the basic tools, commands and workflow for anyone looking to learn Blender. The subjects you'll be modeling are animals but you can apply the knowledge learned to modeling anything.
The book's a 348-page thick paperback. The book starts by showing the user interface and modeling tools, then goes into the character modeling projects. The tutorials are detailed, guided with step by step pictures, complete with instructions and steps that are easy to follow.
The book covers everything you'll need to know about modeling a character from scratch, to creating textures and materials. There are additional downloadable resources from 3DTotal Publishing's website as well, such as process videos, Blender files, textures and a few more tutorials.
This is a comprehensive and insightful book. There's so much to learn with the hands-on tutorials. It's a terrific book to get you up to speed with Blender.
