Review: Goojodoq Magic Keyboard (2025) for iPad Pro and Air

Review sample provided by Goojodoq

Goojodoq is a company that computer accessories and they have updated their Magic Keyboard clone to be compatible with iPad Pros from 2018 to 2025, and iPad Airs from 2020 to 2025.

I've actually reviewed the earlier model in 2023 and it seems like the update is the inclusion of a display to show battery life.

This keyboard case looks good and works well. I've not actually used the original Apple Magic Keyboard before so I can't say if it's an exact clone but it looks very similar.

Price of the keyboard on Shopee SG is around SGD 110 to 120, depending on size. This is less than 1/3 of the SGD 449 Apple Magic Keyboard. If you want a similar looking keyboard but don't want to spend excessively, this alternative from Goojodoq is one to consider.

The keyboard is wireless and uses Bluetooth for connection. Battery life is rated for 220 hours with backlight disabled. Since there's a battery life % is shown on the display, there's almost no chance of it running out of battery unexpectedly. A full charge of the 600 mAh requires 2 hours.

The M4 iPad Pro I'm using has a thickness of 5.3mm and there will be a slight gap between the tablet and keyboard case. If you use a tablet that is 6.1mm, the fitting will be perfect.

The selling point is the floating tablet design that elevates the tablet higher so that it's more ergonomic to look at. The angle shown above is the lowest angle and I wish the angle can be even lower.

The keyboard case is quite heavy and so it's stable, and can be used on your lap, but the lack of low angle deployment makes the tablet more difficult to see. In other words, it's best to use the keyboard case on a table.

The tablet can attach magnetically to the back. Magnets are strong but not so strong that you can hold the tablet alone to lift the keyboard case (will drop off), so it's best to hold the tablet and keyboard case together at all times.

The back has this nice soft fabric texture that provides padding to the back of the tablet. The case exterior is made with smooth PU leather material.

I'm using the 11-inch M4 iPad Pro and the keyboard is almost full-sized but there are some keys on the right that squashed to fit. Overall typing experience is satisfactory. Keys have good travel and feedback. The keys feel slightly plasticky and is not as good as the one I reviewed earlier, but much better than the 1st gen keyboards.

The keys have backlight and there are different colour options.

Shortcut keys default to numbers so you'll need to hold down the Fn key for shortcuts. And the shortcuts are not exact duplicate of the Apple Magic Keyboard, but there are some similar shortcuts.

I have no issues with the typing experience or the feel of the keys considering the price point.

Touchpad is small but big enough, and works well. Clicking feedback is firm and there's support for finger gestures.

Here's a comparison with the eiP keyboard case without the touchpad that I'm currently using. The tablet does not float but it's alright.

So to conclude, the Goojodoq's Magic Keyboard alternative looks good and works well. Pricing is quite reasonable as the product is well made.
