Book Review: Digital Art Masters: Volume 7
Another year, another volume of Digital Art Masters. I can see this series continue indefinitely.
Digital Art Masters Volume 7 features 50 artists in this 288-page paperback. Each features a project and comes with insightful commentary into the creation process. The categories are Sci-Fi, Scene, Fantasy, Character and Cartoon. The techniques taught are mainly on digital painting and 3D modeling. Software used are Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, Mudbox and others.
It's difficult to pick out any outstanding pieces because they all fantastic. The variety is great. Gilles Beloeil talks about the marketplace he created for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Borislav Kechashki explains how he creates his armor bear with 2D and 3D techniques, and many artists talking about their own way of creating character art.
It's an inspiring and insightful collection. Highly recommended to any digital artist.

Start with the latest, then go backwards.
I don't get this
I don't get this Bookdepository...same book cost much less on .com site then on co.uk.
I bought d'artiste - Matte Painting 2 for €44 (Free shipping) on Bookdepository.com and on Bookdepository.co.uk same book cost €57 (Free shipping)...on Ballistic Publishing cost €60 without shipping, on Amazon you can find cheap book but they also don't have free shipping so at the end you are on the same...which mean, not so cheap.
Now i will order 3 more books, including this one and on .com it will cost me €102 and on .co.uk those, exactly the same books cost €146!!
So, if anyone want to buy good book use bookdepository.com site NOT co.uk! They have the cheapest books and free shipping! ;)
Little bit off topic but useful information for those who didn't know. I'd bought more books through these (Parka Blogs) links if I knew this before...or am I the only one who realized this after a while? :))
Hi, great site, I really
Hi, great site, I really appreciate the chance to learn a lot about a book before buying and regretting it later! I was wondering if you could help me out, I was looking at the preview of this book onthe publishers website and there was a few great paintings that caught my eye but the type was to small to make out the name of the artist! The pieces are on pages 6 and 7. I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the artists for the 3 pics on those pages? I would really appreciate the help!
As a budding graphic artist,
As a budding graphic artist, I'm constantly looking for motivational books, magazines, websites, and other materials that will help me better understand the process and how the artwork is produced. I am now reading the first book in the series, which I recently purchased, and it is fantastic.
