Book Review: Inside Family Guy: An Illustrated History
This is a detailed and comprehensive behind-the-scenes book on the making of Family Guy.
This is a large format 248-page hardcover that features the concept art and storyboards with writeup on the origins, characters, story scripts and how the animation is made. The book is insightful and is packed with content not shown on TV and online. If you know Family Guy, you'll probably know that it's not exactly children friendly. The book talks about how far the jokes can be pushed without being censored.
There's a lot of art. And it's great fun to see all the wacky ideas from the creators and artists. I didn't watch all the 20 seasons so I can't tell you if the ideas were actually used the shows, but some don't look suitable for TV.
This is a great book for the fans.
