Book Review: Lake District Sketchbook
Here's another guidebook from the pictorial celebration series. It's a 96-page hardcover about the size of a DVD case.
This book is a tour around a selection of the author and artist Jim Watson's favourite places around Lake District. He was actually born there but moved away at age 18.
The watercolour drawings are beautiful. The line art is very simple but clear. The place looks really scenic with the lakes, mountains and the traditional English houses. Maps are included for all the places illustrated and there are text on the history, facts and figures.
It's a nice visual guidebook for those who like sketchbooks and traveling.
