Book Review: Portraits: Louis Thomas
This book was sent to me by Gallery Nucleus. Thanks, guys! I won't have known that this book existed otherwise.
Louis Thomas is an artist who has worked for Pixar, Laika, Cartoon Network and Sony Pictures Animation. He certainly has an impressive portfolio.
Portraits: Louis Thomas is an A4-sized paperback artbook that features 100 portraits previously exhibited at Antonine Catzeflis in Paris, France.
The portraits are just lovely. They are all drawn with mixed media. I'm not sure which media because there's no mention, but the overall look and feel is fantastic. There's texture, life and mood. The people he painted are mostly friends and family. There are some nude pieces too.
The essence of the portraits are beautifully captured. Overall, I love the casual and relaxed look. The use of mixed media also make the paintings look less serious and more light hearted.
All the artworks are printed huge and wonderful to marvel at. It's a great book that you can find at https://www.gallerynucleus.com/detail/22190/
I highly recommend this if you like portraiture art.
