Book Review: PYGMALION女子フィギュア惑溺仕上げ
田川弘 Pygmalion is a Japanese miniature and figurine painter. His painted figurines are amazingly detailed and life-like. The realism is on another level. It's like watching an anime/video game character coming to life in physical form.
This book is a 96-page paperback published by Dainippon Kaiga. It's an instructional book with step by step commentary and photos showing Pygmalion's process to painting the figurines. All the tools and supplies are listed. Text is in Japanese and English, except for the interview at the back which is only in Japanese.
The sculptures are from different artists, Masato Ohata, klondike, Hiroki Hayashi, Shunjii Hagii, ke(comacow), Yoshifusa Tanaka, Sukarako Iwanaga, Inorisama, Yoshiki, Fuzimoto and more.
This is a great book for sculptors, figurine painters and maybe artbook collectors.
