Book Review: So You Want to be a Roman Soldier
This is one of two picture books on career choices for kids published by Thames and Hudson. This book is on what it takes to be a Roman soldier while the other book is on being a Viking. These books are meant to be more fun than serious as obviously these career choices don't exists anymore today.
This book covers all the details of what it takes to be a Roman soldier. It talks about the criteria, training regime, types of armor and weapons to use, discipline, war strategies and more. The text by author Georgia Amson-Bradshaw is short, concise and interesting, and illustration by Takayo Akiyama are fun and humorous.
This is an engaging book for kids who will get to learn some general knowledge. If you're getting this, it's worth getting the other book on Viking too.
