Books I'm getting for March 2009
Not all the books I've ordered in Feb 09 have arrived, sadly. The ones that have arrived and have reviews for are Watchmen: The Art of the Film and Everyone Has the Right to My Opinion.
Anyway, here's my shopping list for March 2009.
Tales of Outer Suburbia is top of my list. Having seen some of the images from the book, I must say that I love the surreal style. You can check the the images as well as an interview with Shaun Tan on Drawn.ca. There are almost 100 customer reviews on Amazon currently since the book first published in Nov 2008. Check out the homepage of Shaun Tan.

I love reading these cartoons. It's like slapping politicians and they can't retaliate. I do have a few series of the book. To get a feel of what's inside, just visit politicalcartoons.com. More than enough funny cartoons for anyone to read.

And these are ordering for Kelvin Chan: Dare Detectives Volume 1, Watchmen Film Companion, All Action Classics Tom Sawyer and The Art of Comic Book Inking.
The last book on the list is actually one that I'm not going to buy. It's a great art book. The whole book is available for preview on Ballistic Publishing.
The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants is just too pricey, ever more so since it's out of print and out of stock in most places. The basic hardcover is US69 from Ballistic. The special Folio edition is a whopping US170. Seriously?! And it's not just me who's complaining about the price.
However, there's a wonderful feature on the book on cgsociety.org.
If you're truly interested, you might still be able to find it from third party merchants on Amazon.com. I'll give it a miss until I can find one at a saner price.

Hi Parka, once I mentioned
Hi Parka, once I mentioned your blog inspired me to keep doing book reviews, and since I really enjoy the way you review the books (flip video plus photos), I thought it would be a good idea to go that way too, hope you don't mind.
As I was reading this post, I noticed that you are going to get the Art of Mass Effect book. Since this is the latest book I reviewed in my blog (link here), I thought you would like to check it out.
I have yet many game artbooks to review... here's a quick suggestion list on the topic. They all have great concept art and (most of them) comments from the developers.
