Book Review: 5-Minute Sketching -- Landscapes: Super-quick Techniques for Amazing Drawings by Virginia Hein
Here's another book from the 5-minute Sketching series. The other two I've featured so far are on architecture and people.
Author of this book is Virginia Hein, an artist, teacher and a prolific Urban Sketcher who also shares a lot of her work on her blog.
Books from the 5-minute Sketching collects short and helpful tips that beginners can quickly use to improve their sketches. The tips and techniques aren't the step-by-step type but more of insights and ideas that you can explore. So this is a good book that complements other more structural drawing books that you may already have.
There are 128 pages and the book is loaded with beautiful examples of artists from all around the world. You can study the examples to see how each technique is applied by other artists.
Note that there are two publishers for this book, Firefly Books and Search Press. Content for both editions are the same except the cover art is different.
Overall. it's an insightful book that's worth the money. Highly recommended to anyone who loves to draw.
