Book Review: Art of Maliki
Maliki is the French webcomic created by Souillon in 1995. This is the first artbook for the series.
It's a beautiful book with a matte surface. It's hardcover, 192 pages, and the page edges are silver trimmed.
Collected within are the sketches, posters, promotional material, and other art that's doesn't belong to the Maliki webcomics, probably commissioned pieces. I like the drawing style which looks animated, especially the colouring. Besides Maliki the female character, there are also lots of other character designs to look at.
If you haven't check out the webcomic before, you should because it's very professionally drawn. You can find them at maliki.com (French) or maliki.com/en (English). There's also a DeviantArt site where can you can check out more art.
The book's published by Ankama Editions. They also published the Dofus and Wakfu artbooks. If you have them, you might find the style pretty similar here.
It's a wonderful book. Recommended to those who like comic or anime style art.
