Book Review: Dynamic Bible Vol 1 by Peter Han
Peter Han is a concept artist and teacher with more than 10 years of teaching experience.
Dynamic Bible Volume 1 is a large format 84-page hardcover book that collects drawing tips and techniques on creating dynamic looking art. The book's published by Superani and is priced at US $35.
The book's split into three parts. The first part covers basic fundamentals such as drawing ellipses, creating value, depth and physical form. The second and third parts are on drawing bugs and cars. His pen and ink art is amazing. You have to see Peter Han's Artstation page and Youtube channel.
This is not an instructional artbook designed to teach you all the drawing fundamentals in a structured process. The drawing tips are practical and insightful, but the topics are kinda random. So this is more of a book to complement other instructional artbooks that you may already have. From what I've read, the second volume will cover skeletal structure and military vehicles.
If you're looking for a book that has more structure, check out How to Draw: drawing and sketching objects and environments from your imagination by Scott Robertson instead.
Peter Han's book is available from Superani and Basheer Graphic Books (Singapore).
