Book Review: The Urban Sketching Handbook: Drawing with a Tablet
Here's another wonderful addition to the Urban Sketching Handbook series.
The artist and author this time is Uma Kelkar. She's an artist, urban sketcher and computer chip designer (wow!).
This book has plenty of drawing tips for drawing on a tablet. Uma uses an iPad but the tips and techniques can also be used with other drawing apps for Android. Many features, such as blend modes, layers, etc, are available on both iOS and Android apps.
The tips try to cover all aspects of digital drawing, and this includes basic drawing fundamentals and certain features found in the drawing apps. The tips are brief but they introduce you to certain workflows which you can then explore more of yourself. There are also exercises you can try out. This is not a detailed step-by-step instructional book but merely a quick guide to get you started with digital drawing on the go.
So if you want to try your hand at sketching on a tablet, consider getting this book.
