Book Review: World Press Photo 2009

Book Review: World Press Photo 2009

This is the 52nd annual contest with 5508 photographers from 124 countries taking part. A total of 178 were selected for this book.

Some of the photos are pretty haunting. such as the one of a floating decomposing corpse of a Cyclone Nargis victim, or the attacker from the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Some are quite interesting like the before and after match face shots of boxers.

I don't really collect photography book myself and this book was passed to me by my colleague. It should appeal more to those who're into photojournalism.
