Review: ESR Paper-Feel Matte Screen Protector

ESR Paper-Feel is a matte screen protector made for various iPad models. The price is USD 18 and there are two pieces in the box. These can be purchased from ESR Tech online store or Amazon US. There are many different sizes so many sure you buy the correct version for your iPad model.

The installation kit included in the box are: alignment frame, wet wipes, dry wipes, card for removing bubbles, stickers for removing dust, installation instructions.

It's important to read the installation instructions so that you know the installation procedure for a smooth installation.

Installation is quite straightforward with the installation kit.

The anti-glare isn't that aggressive in the sense that it does not diffuse reflections to turn the whole matte screen protector white.

You can still the reflections.

All matte screen protectors will introduce some colour noise or grain to affect visual quality of the display. Unfortunately for ESR Paper-Feel, there is noticeable colour noise which is visible to me instantly with first impression.

There's more noticeable colour noise compared to another brand (can't rememeber which) that I also use. You probably can't tell just by looking at the photo above because this is something difficult to capture in photo or in video.

The main selling point of such matte screen protectors is for the textured surface which feels nicer to work with for drawing and writing. This screen protector does provide a good amount of texture and tactile experience. Since the matte screen protector is made with plastic, there's still the plasticky feel which is not surprising.
