Sketching at Tolido's and Artistry

The cafe sketching gang went back to Tolido's Expresso Nook and Artistry Cafe (at Jalan Pinang) again to sketch today. See previous entry.

Seems like Tolido's offering free coffee for Urban Sketchers Singapore when you order food there. So generous!

I'm starting a new sketchbook. This one's the Epilson series from Stillman & Birn. Paper is white. Works well enough for watercolour. It feels like Hot Press paper with its smooth surface. I'm really impressed by the 150GSM paper that doesn't buckle much when used with watercolour.

This is 124 pages so it's going to take me a long while to finish. Because of the thickness, it doesn't open as flat compared to the thicker 270GSM series Stillman & Birn sketchbooks. It's not easy to draw near the gutter.

I'm liking the sketchbook very much so far.

While walking along Victoria Street from Tolido's to Artistry, we spotted some of Ernest Zacharevic's street art. Great to see that they are here in Singapore too.
