Spotlight on Nature: Tips and Techniques for Drawing and Painting Nature on Location (Urban Sketching Handbook)
This book is listed as book #15 in the Urban Sketching Handbook series. What can I say... urban sketching is very popular.
The latest addition Spotlight on Nature: Tips and Techniques for Drawing and Painting Nature on Location is authored by Virginia Hein and Gail L. Wong, both very experienced urban sketchers whom I've met at the Urban Sketchers Symposium.
The book's format is similar to the earlier ones. It's still a 112-page paperback that's packed with lots of drawing tips and beautiful examples from fellow urban sketchers around the world. If you find drawing nature, trees, greenery, mountains, water challenging, this is the book for you. The book's very insightful and you can see the different techniques other artists use to sketch and paint nature.
The Urban Sketching Handbooks are books that I flip through regularly to get ideas. And this one's a good resource. Just note that if you buy one, you may be tempted to buy all.
