Cafe sketching at Pacific Coffee and Bloomsbury Bakers

For today's cafe sketching session, we visited Pacific Coffee Company at Bendemeer Road (map) and Bloomsbury Bakers (map). The coffee at Pacific was great and Lychee Martini at Bloomsbury Bakers delicious.

I'm still using QoR watercolours. I'm still trying to get the hang of mixing with the semi-transparent Hansa Yellow Medium.

I don't usually use wet on wet techniques but after reading Watercolor in Motion, I was really inspired to try more of that, and of tilting the paper to mix the colours. It's quite exciting to see the colours mix by motion of the water.

This was a quick 30 minute sketch at Chinatown before the sun set, hence the lack of colour.

All three were drawn on the Pentalic cotton watercolour journal.
