Book Review: Free Hand New Typography Sketchbooks
Steven Heller and Lita Talarico are back with another book on hand drawn typography. The earlier book Typography Sketchbooks was published in 2011.
This book 352-page hardcover is filled with sketchbook pages of typography designers and artists. It's a book meant to give you ideas for brainstorming your own designs. The type featured are all hand drawn. And many are drawn and used as an art form rather than for writing purposes. 76 designers are included so there's plenty of variety and styles to check out.
Each designer has a short profile featured. Their websites are provided so you can check out more work online.
There's beauty in typography and you can see that easily with the pages featured. There's this rawness that appeals to me. The raw creation process at the start of something. Check out the preview pages below to see if this is the book for you.
