XPPen releases Artist Pro 24 (gen 2) pen display with 165Hz refresh rate

XPPen has just released the XPPen Artist Pro 24 (gen 2) pen display with some impressive features. You can visit the product page for the full specs but here are the main features that caught my attention.

Price is listed as USD 1299. Pre-sale price is USD 1104.99.

165Hz

This new 23.8-inch pen display will be running 4K resolution at 165Hz refresh rate. While this is not the first pen display with refresh rate higher than 60Hz, it's still one of the rare pen displays that supports high refresh rate, the other being Wacom Cintiq Pro 27 with 4K at 120Hz.

What is more impressive is the pen display is said to support 99% AdobeRGB. In case you don't know, true AdobeRGB displays are significantly more expensive than 100% sRGB or P3 displays. If XPPen can really delivery 99% AdobeRGB, then I would say their high price tag is justified.

X-Color Master

This is the colour solution developed together with Calman. There will be a new software for colour calibration with a list of supported colour calibrators. All pen displays are also said to be tested with higher standards before they leave the factory.

All the good stuff from gen 2 pen displays

This is the fourth pen display from the gen 2 series. The earlier three are

They are all using the X3 Pro pens that support tilt and 16K pressure sensitivity. They all have matte glass displays that provide anti-glare and subtle tactile drawing experience. They all come with the XPPen ACK05 shortcut remote.

Final thoughts

The pen performance and colour support from the previous pen displays are all quite impressive so I'm quite excited to see that XPPen is putting out a new product that's said to be better.

I'll see if I can get a review unit from XPPen to put out a review so I can't confirm if there will be a review yet.

Meanwhile, if you have the intention to buy one, consider using my affiliate link to make your purpose, and do share with me and others your thoughts when you get your hands on one.
