ART JAM with Paul Wang (Demonstration of Daniel Smith Watercolors)
Today's part 1 of 2 of the ART JAM for the demonstration of Daniel Smith Watercolors, featuring my Urban Sketcher friend Paul Wang (above).
A little back story first.
My other Urban Sketcher friend Whee Teck is bringing Daniel Smith Watercolors into the Singapore market. So he has sponsored Paul and I some watercolors to try out, and help out with the promotion. Today's the first session and it was a blast.
Oh, to get Daniel Smith Watercolors in Singapore, just order them from Arters website. The price is quite good. Shipping is SGD$5 (per shipment), and it's free for purchases above $80, which is around 7-8 watercolour tubes.
I must say that sponsoring Paul is a good bargain because he was given the Daniel Smith Dot Card with 238 Colors...
This one.
And look what he did with it!
There are two other sheets not in the photograph.
I don't think I'll be able to top that with my demonstration. Maybe I just arrange mine as "Whee Teck and Parka presents another Paul Wang ART JAM". lol
The session was held at Muffinry, 112 Telok Ayer St, Singapore. It's a nice cosy cafe near the outskirts of Chinatown. They have nice coffee, cakes and muffins. Muffins were free-flowing today.
These have these cool little test tubes of love.
Even though it says there's a demo by me, I didn't demo anything today. Paul stole the show. Thanks. Which is why I have the time to take all these photos.
I can't help myself. I bought 6 tubes. And I don't even use them frequently enough.
That's Whee Teck
Paul explaining the intricacy of Daniel Smith Watercolors. Maybe I'll get him to talk about it again and I'll record it next time.

This are the colours that Paul chose for his palette.
- Cadmium Yellow Dp Hue
- Transparent Pyrrol Orange
- Perm Alizarin Crimson
- Moonglow
- Cobalt Blue Violet
- Sodalite Genuine
- French Ultramarine
- Cobalt Teal Blue
- Green Apatite Genuine
- Transparent Brown Oxide
That's quite unconventional as compared to my 10-colour palette. Mine are all transparent.

Oops. Staining colours on the table. I hope they can be removed.

So if you want to get Daniel Smith Watercolors in Singapore, get it at Arters website.
If you're elsewhere, like in USA, you can also find them on Amazon.
I might have eaten too much sugary stuff today.
