What are your favourite silent comics?
I was posting the preview to R.I.P.: Best of 1985-2004 when I had this question.
To tell a story with dialogue is hard enough. To tell one without dialogue is even harder.
Silent comics are, I think, pretty rare. Some that come to my mind are:
- The Arrival by Shaun Tan
- Gon, Japanese manga by Masashi Tanaka
- Almost Silent by Jason (almost silent as the name suggest)
I know there's a Moebius comic which starts and ends with a bird (possibly crow or eagle) flying. Can't remember the name though. Another one from Moebius which isn't strictly a comic would be 40 Days dans le Désert B.
What silent comics have you read and which are your favourites?
