Book Review: A Bug's Life: The Art and Making of an Epic of Miniature Proportions
This is a gigantic book. It is actually quite difficult to shoot the video of me flipping the huge landscape pages.
This book is a delight to read, just like the first Toy Story art book. It's filled with great stories from the production floor, tons of storyboards, pastel drawings, movie stills, concept art, character design and inspiration.
The focus of the book, other than the art, is on the story aspect, the function behind the form. Explanation in details were given on why things happen, why characters behave like who they are and how they evolve, in terms of design.
Too many books out there are just compilation of great art pieces with nothing to say about it. This book is different. This book made me feel. And that's what's set this book and the Toy Story art book apart from all other art books. It's the emotional connection that's almost impossible to create just by art itself, story is needed.

Do you know of anywhere i can buy The Art Of Monsters Inc cheap?
All i have found are $490 and $180 dollar ones. I just bought Finding Nemo's art book, and I'd love Monster's Inc, because the pictures are gorgeous and i'd love to read it, but i can't find it...
I love sketching things, and i adore Disney/Pixar animations.
Thanks!

You'll have to try looking at the secondhand book websites like eBay.com, half.com, bookfinder.com or other auction sites.
Most of the online book retailers I know don't sell the book at sane prices anymore.

If by merchant you mean like a seller on the Amazon marketplace, then yes I did because Amazon UK don't have the book in their store but I got mine from where it says '1 NEW FROM £54'
Thank you so much for the review, I'm so please to get it because it is beautiful isn't it?!
I only have 2 more art books left to collect now. Monsters Inc and Ratatouille (Toy Story 3 hasn't come
out in England yet). I don't think I will ever get those two books for a sane price because I definetly want it new and not used.
Thanks for all your reviews! I think The Art of Cars 2 should be dedicated to you dude! :D
P.S. Does that mean that my book os collectible?

Would you be able to help me find one for a sane price? I don't want this to sound needy but I mean I'm sure you check amazon daily so like if one comes up then just email me. If you don't want to do this then don't :D just an idea! Btw after your comment about picking toy story 3 up, do you live in England?

William Marler: The art of ratatouille is available on abebooks.co.uk, it comes from New Zealand, but it comes with a slipcover in great condition. Not bad price aswell. Link: https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=1284453778&searchur…
There are lots of spoliers in the art of book for toy story 3, but it's worth picking up a copy, before stocks start to run out.
Oh and I do live in England and I don't check amazon daily, I just hunt around for cheap deals. =)

Hey Parka, I recently had my GCSE exam results and I did quite well. For this my Mother is letting me get PIXAR at the Museum of Modern Art for £80 on amazon, I recall you saying that you don't own the book, but do you happen to know whether it is good or not, I was able to flick through a copy at a studio I visited recently but apart from that I don't really know if it is good or not. I'm sure it will be because it is a PIXAR art book!
