Book Review: How To Make Capcom Fighting Characters: Street Fighter Character Design
This is the English edition of the original Japanese edition ストリートファイター キャラクターメイキング which was published in 2018. The publisher is Udon Entertainment.
The book's a 288-page large format hardcover book. As the title suggest, it covers the characters from Street Fighter, more specifically Street Fighter V. All the characters are included except Dan, Oro and Rose which were released recently. One thing's for sure is, Capcom really knows how to design characters.
This is a terrific book that goes into the production process of designing and making these characters. There's plenty of art for the characters and costumes, together with captions and commentary from the designers and staff. There's a lot to see and to read. If you're into Street Fighter, not just for SFV, you'll be able to learn a lot about the characters.
There's also a very lengthy interview with character designer Akiman (Akira Yasuda).
This is a great book for all Street Fighter fans. Highly recommended.
