Book Review: Jean-Baptiste Monge Sketchbook Vol 2
Big thanks to Jean-Baptiste Monge for sending over his artbook to be feature here. This is one of three books I received. The other two are Celtic Faeries and A World of Imagination.
This is the follow-up to his first sketchbook which was released a few years ago, and is currently out of print. Hopefully he can compile all his sketches into one huge volume in the future. His sketches are lovely and fun.
This book is a 66-page paperback, almost A4 size. Featured within are beautiful sketches of fantasy characters and creatures. Gnomes, faeries, orcs, dragons, witches, the whole range. There are occasional concept art for video games and movies. The sketches are printed on matte bright white paper that really makes those pencil sketches look like they are the originals.
It's an inspiring sketchbook. Makes you want to grab a pencil and start drawing.
