Book Review: Long Season: The Art of Josee Shimazaki
This is the artbook that features the beautiful illustrations of Josee Shimazaki. The book's a 160-page paperback published by PIE Books.
All the artworks have strong composition, wonderful use of texture and just the right amount of details. The illustrations are made up of strong shapes for composition with additional smaller shapes and textures for details. It goes to show that composition is so important, and more important over the details that acts as complements. Having a strong composition also makes you stay with the image longer. And as such, this book is actually worth getting just to study how Josee Shimazaki uses composition.
It's a great book.
