Book Review: Making of Wakfu Season 1 Volume 4
Volume 4 collects the art and sketches for episodes Xav the Baker and Ruel's Bag.
The heroes are now in the town that's inspired by bread and baking. All the houses there have a bread-top like design which looks pretty humorous. In this particular episode, chief character designer Xavier Houssin had his family caricatured and included as Xav's family. Cool.
In Ruel's Bag episode, the heroes get sucked into the bag that Ruel has been carrying all along. Inside the bag is another world in itself. The episode is Ruel-centric and features Ruel's village and his treasure hunter past. This episode had a record viewing of 1.2 million.
As usual for everything, there are set and character designs, background drawings (few) and animation boards. The commentary is in French and English. It's always a delight to read about how the episodes were made.
