Sketching from Esplanade Roof Terrace
I've been using Flickr to look for interesting places to sketch from recently.
This is the view from Esplanade roof terrace. It's a challenging perspective to tackle but all the more fun.
I was sketching this on a partially cloudy day, wondering when I would be cooked under the sun. There's no shelter on the roof which is not surprising. It's hot so this is a pretty rush job.
Second piece of the day was drawn at The Arts House at the Old Parliament. Buildings nearby have been undergoing renovations and restoration but they are almost done now. I should have included more of the building on the left to balance out the composition, but that would mean I have to sit in the sun.
Both pieces are drawn on the Fabriano Artistico CP 300GSM watercolour paper with Uni-ball Eye pen and Kremer Pigments, a combination I'm enjoying so far.
