Book Review: Wonder: The Art and Practice of Beatrice Blue
Beatrice Blue (Twitter | Instagram) is a freelance visual development artist and Illustrator who loves to travel and explore. Her art is rich in detail and colours, and there's this childlike sense of wonder and aesthetics in her style.
This book is a 152-page hardcover that features the beautiful illustrations Beatrice has created over the years. It's published by 3Dtotal who has been publishing a lot of artist-centric books lately.
There's a lot to see in this book, and there's plenty of commentary with Beatrice talking about her inspiration, career, how she makes her own paint, digital vs traditional, and her creative process. There are no tutorials so this isn't an instructional book.
This is a beautiful artbook I can recommend to those who like picture book illustrations, or who are fans of Beatrice Blue. Highly recommended.
