Review: Daler Rowney Red & Yellow Sketch Pad (150gsm)

It's so confusing that Daler Rowney has so many types of sketching paper.

I've previously reviewed Simply Sketch (95gsm) and Simply Drawing (120gsm).

The Red & Yellow Sketch Pad is a step up in paper weight at 150gsm. Red & Yellow is available from A6 to A2 sizes in spiral and gummed pads, 25 sheets each. There's also a Jumbo pad with 100 sheets but that's 25 by 25cm square size. You can spot this paper easily at art stores from the red and yellow covers.

The surface texture is lightly texture. It's suitable for use with dry media, pencils and coloured pencils, pastels, pen and ink. Light wash over small areas are alright but the paper will still warp slightly.

The paper's good for light sketching, casual drawing.

Below are some of my sketches.
