Review: Molotow One4All Acrylic Pump Markers

Molotov is a German company well known for making paint markers and spray cans.

The Molotow One4All acrylic markers are some of the best opaque paint markers available to artists. The quality is right up there with the Uni Posca markers that I really love.

Tips sizes available are:

  • 1mm
  • 1.5mm
  • 2mm
  • 4mm
  • 4-8mm chisel
  • 15mm broad

There are even twin tips.

The markers are refillable and there are even instructions on the packaging showing you how to dismantle the markers.

You can unscrew and pull out everything easily. Just make sure you don't get paint onto surfaces you don't want paint on because the inks are permanent when dry. Tips are replaceable too.

The markers are sold individually and in sets. Each marker is around US $7 to $14 depending on the tip and also who the seller is. You can compare prices on Blick Art Materials which has the full range and on Amazon which has a much smaller range.

The tips are spring loaded. You can push the tips in to get more ink out. Ink flow is good, dry quick and don't smell.

There's a transparent section on the marker body that allows you to see how much ink is left. This is such a useful feature. This allows you to buy replacement markers or refill your markers before the ink runs out. And from what I can see, the marker is filled 90% full so even though these markers are more expensive than other brands, it's still kinda worth the money.

The ink is pigmented, UV-resistant, waterproof and permanent when dry.

There's unfortunately no pigment code listed for the colours. It's difficult to know how lightfast the colours are unless you test them yourself.

And you can't rely on the marketing names of the colours to determine the exact hue. Some of the colours in this set I have are Zinc Yellow, Traffic Red, Neon Pink, Dare Orange.

You can see the whole range of 50 colours from this PDF brochure.

These Molotow acrylic markers are extremely opaque. These are more opaque than many other so-called opaque paint markers.

The colours are very vibrant, and have excellent contrast regardless of the colour of the paper surface. They dry to a low gloss finish.

These are high quality opaque markers I can recommend easily. You can find these markers on Blick Art Materials, and Amazon (US | CA | UK | DE | FR | IT | ES | AU | JP)

Search Jackson's Art (UK) and Dick Blick Art Materials (US).
