Cathy Johnson is a painter, author and teacher who grew up in Independence, Missouri, and now lives in a small town near there. She took a fun evening and weekend classes at the Kansas City Art Institute as a young woman, but is otherwise completely self-taught. She has authored eight North Light books, as well as Sierra Club Guide to Sketching in Nature, Sierra Club Guide to Painting in Nature, and writes for Watercolor Artist magazine. Pixar - A Human Story of Computer Animation
The following video is a look into the history of computer animation from the perspective of Ed Catmull, Alvy Ray Smith, Andrew Stanton and Brad Bird.
If you're as big as a Pixar fan as me, you'll have already heard some of the stories. Some of these stories are told in The Pixar Story documentary from 3-disc WALL-E DVD (Amazon link) and the book To Infinity And Beyond.

An Illustrated Life: Seamus Heffernan
Seamus grew up in New England and now lives in Portland, Oregon. He recently graduated with a BFA in painting from the Pacific Northwest College of Art and did a semester abroad with the Aegean Center for the Fine Arts in Greece. He is a freelance illustrator/painter/comics artist.
